Meet the Family Behind Anvo
Edward Hsyeh leads Anvo's growth strategy. He holds an MBA from Stanford and a degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, and has spent over five years in insurance — first at Progyny (PGNY) during its IPO, then at Grow Therapy..
Edward speaks, reads, and writes fluent Mandarin, having lived and worked in China for six years. He splits his time between Kansas City and New York City, leading Anvo's expansion into new markets while staying rooted in the Midwest values the business was built on.
Alice Hsyeh is the operational backbone of Anvo Insurance. A University of Kansas graduate, she has spent over a decade working alongside her mother to grow the business from the ground up — and was the driving force behind Anvo's expansion into commercial insurance.
Alice speaks, reads, and writes fluent Mandarin and is deeply embedded in the Kansas City community where she was born and raised.
Yalu Pao founded what is now Anvo Insurance over 20 years ago. She immigrated to the United States from China in the early 1980s, starting out in the restaurant industry before building a career in insurance and eventually opening her own agency.
Yalu became the premier Asian insurance agent in the Midwest, building a loyal client base through trust, cultural connection, and relentless service. Today, she continues to grow the Anvo network while dedicating time to her nonprofit, Fountain of Life.
